About Rent Alberta

Thorold is a city of approximately 25,000 nestled in the Niagara Region, not far from Canada’s famous Niagara Falls. Finding an apartment in Thorold to your liking may prove to be a bit tricky. There just isn’t a wide selection to choose from especially in the higher quality range. The city is conveniently located near the Pen Center, Niagara largest shopping mall, Brock University and offers easy access to Niagara Falls and Welland.

Where to live in Rent Alberta

Most Thorold apartments can be found close to the downtown core. There are some larger buildings at the end of Front St and along Ormond St. You will also find some buildings along Pine St. There is an interesting apartment building on Pine St that was once an old mill. These attractive apartments are available to low income seniors.

If you want to live near Brock University or the Pen Center, you will want to find an apartment along St. Davids Road or Collier Rd. In all likeliness, you will be searching for an apartment in someone’s basement though as there just isn’t that many apartment buildings in this area.

Transportation Routes

Since the city is relatively small, most Thorold apartments offer convenient highway access. Apartments in north Thorold offer easy access to Hwy 406 while Hwy 58 is used by those living in apartments in south Thorold. Both highways converge near Brock University.

Most people living in this city actually work in St. Catharines or Niagara Falls. However the main employer in Thorold is Abitibi-Bowater located in South Thorold on the Welland Canal. In the downtown core, there appears to be some tech start up companies which is promising for the local economy. Beyond that, it’s mostly local shops and restaurants.

Safety __google_idelines for Rent Alberta

Thorold overall is a very safe city. If we had to choose an area to be cautious about, then South Thorold would be the area. To be certain the apartment building you're considering is managed to the highest standards; look for the Certified Rental Building symbol. Other locations to consider

Thorold is located in close proximity to St. Catharines. In fact, most people don’t even know where the boundary line is between the two cities. St. Catharines is home to about 150,000 people and offers many apartments to choose from. Brock student housing is popular in this city in the Glendale and Glenridge areas. If a short commute of 10 – 15 minutes is not an issue, then consider looking for an apartment in Niagara Falls, Welland, Fonthill or possibly even Beamsville. Niagara Falls offers a great selection of apartments to choose from and most are competitively priced. You should find Welland apartments less expensive than Thorold apartments however there are fewer apartments to choose from. Beamsville and Fonthill offer very limited selections and you will find they are likely to be somewhat more expensive.
